Wood Glue Interior
Features and benefits
EVO-STIK Wood Glue Interior is an extra strong wood adhesive for interior use on all wood types. This indoor wood adhesive forms a bond stronger than the wood itself, standing the test of time on even the toughest tasks.
Its fast-setting, Resin 'W' formula makes it an excellent interior wood glue that can be sanded, painted, and stained - perfect for interior projects. Plus, it applies white and dries to a clear finish in minutes, going undetected to provide a seamless finish.
This EVO-STIK interior wood adhesive comes in an easy-to-use bottle in a variety of sizes. Each bottle is equipped with a convenient twist-top nozzle, making it super quick and simple to achieve a precise application every time.
Use this interior wood adhesive to assemble wooden items or furniture, to create repairs, or even in upcycling projects. It's a toolbox staple!
Suitable materials: All wood types including both softwood, hardwood, chipboard, plywood and blockwood.
Suitable uses: Suitable for assembly of frames for doors, windows and drawers, as well as making mortice and tenon, dowelled and other standard woodworking joints. Also suitable for bonding wood veneers and laminated plastics to wood or chipboard cores.
Sizes: Mini, 125ml, 250ml, 500ml, 1 litre, 2.5 litre, 5 litre.
HOW TO USE
PREPARATION
1. Surfaces to be bonded must be smooth and finished to fit closely together; for dowelled or mortice and tenon joints, the clearance must be less than 0.25mm. Surfaces must also be clean, dry, and free from dust or loose material.
APPLICATION
2. Apply an even film of interior wood glue to one of the surfaces to be bonded.
3. In applications where greater bond strength is required, coat all surfaces.
4. When bonding dowels or tenons, it is preferable to apply the wood adhesive to the hole or mortice so that the wet adhesive is carried into the socket when assembly takes place.
5. Assemble the parts whilst the adhesive film is still wet.
6. After the parts have been assembled, maintain light pressure on the bond line during the initial setting period, using equipment such as vices, jigs, clamps, or dead loads.
HOW TO REMOVE
A moist cloth will remove the ‘wet’ adhesive but be careful not to spread a thin film onto nearby wood, which might later be varnished or painted. It is sometimes safer to allow the adhesive to dry, then mechanically remove the excess.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most emulsions are white in colour due to the way they reflect light. If used in the correct conditions, they dry clear or translucent.
Until the adhesive has 'set' it will have no strength. In this case the water in the product will cause the adhesive to shrink as it dries. The water may also swell the wood grain. Clamping the wood gently will keep the bond in place until EVO-STIK Wood Glue Interior has set.
EVO-STIK Wood Glue Interior reaches full cure within 24 hours at 20 degrees Celsius.
The rate of development of joint strength depends upon such variables as ambient temperature, humidity, and bonding pressure. The substrate type, porosity, and water content will also contribute to how quickly full bond strength is achieved.
As a guide, beech substrates at 7°C must be maintained under pressure using a vice, jig, clamp, or dead load for at least 12 hours. Whereas at 20°C and 55% relative humidity, the time under load may be reduced to little more than 1 hour.
Open assembly time depends on the substrate porosity and ambient temperature, but generally falls within the range of 5 to 10 minutes.
To clean the nozzle on EVO-STIK wood adhesive, use a clean, damp cloth to firstly wipe off excess glue after closing.
If the nozzle becomes clogged with dry glue, remove the entire cap by screwing this from the bottle. Twist the nozzle and push the dry glue backward with a toothpick or similar item. Then, rinse the cap with warm water and dry, before screwing back onto the bottle.
